Since 2007, Peter Knogl has led the Cheval Blanc restaurant, bringing it to international fame through his dedication, passion, and unique culinary style. Since 2015, Cheval Blanc has been awarded 3 Michelin stars and 19 Gault Millau points, securing its place among the elite in the global culinary scene. Additionally, in 2025, Cheval Blanc was ranked as the number one restaurant in the world by "La Liste." Throughout the years, the experienced chef has remained true to his principles, following his instincts to extract the very best from the carefully selected ingredients. His signature is his exquisite and flavor-rich sauces. Furthermore, he continuously refines his dishes with dedication, infusing French haute cuisine with Asian and Mediterranean influences, bringing sophistication and lightness.
A native of Bavaria, Peter Knogl has gained experience at renowned establishments around the world. With professional stints in Spain, England, and France, he has not only broadened his culinary horizon but also expanded his linguistic skills. Twice named "Chef of the Year" by Gault Millau, he has also been awarded the prestigious "Michelin Chef Mentor Award."
In Basel, Peter Knogl has found a new home to which he feels deeply connected. His goal is to create a culinary experience that leaves a lasting impression on guests' memories.
